What Is Life All About? A Simple Answer to the Complex Question: How to Find Happiness? Part 3

There is no real answer on how to find happiness.

Because our passions and purpose may lie in very different places.

Our current lives and circumstances, wildly dissimilar.

Our geographic, religious, socio-economic and individual stances on mortality vastly distinct.

But does any of that matter? Because with those differences comes a very natural and universal truth.

That in order to be happy, we must feel as though we matter.

That we belong and are part of a community where we are seen, heard, cared for, loved unconditionally and truly count.

For years in my own life, I struggled with the anguish of internal emptiness. And perhaps just like you, tried desperately to fill that void with becoming more successful and collecting more ‘stuff’.

If I earned more money, I would feel more value in myself.

If I amassed to a certain level of notability, I would be fortified with purpose.

If I owned an extensive wardrobe, I would look the part.

If I had a better car or the latest ‘widget’, I would fit in.

If I found love, my void would be filled.

Does any of that sound familiar?

The key for me was a realization that I needed to stop looking for outward indicators, validation or maintaining an image… How to find happiness was an answer that already existed in me.

Becoming aware and allowing my Truth was the first step.

But I also intuitively knew, that allowing (not becoming; do you see the difference?) happiness was a matter of connecting with other people. Authentically and even vulnerably.

As I spent time mentally learning and understanding about my own journey towards success, I came to a single, powerful and undeniable fact:

I was happy first.

That was the genesis of my ability to truly succeed after years spent in the turmoil of trying to.

After all I’ve said and told you this week, it should come as no surprise that FTR Nation was created and founded on this very principle.

The Audacious idea of establishing a Nexus so that people worldwide could connect Authentically, truly learn to See themselves and others while Declaring their intentions to cultivate a Legacy of service by allowing the universe to guide our collective efforts along a timeless journey known as the Kaizen Path.

The entire FTR Nation Creed was embedded (rather skillfully if I may say so!) in that last paragraph:

Be Audacious
Be a Nexus
Be Authentic
Sawubona (See Yourself and Others)
Declare and Proclaim
Cultivate a Legacy
Follow the Kaizen Path

I promise, my intention was not to subtly or overtly suggest that your key for how to find happiness will only ever be found through FTR Nation.

But I will say that true success in life is based on your fundamental happiness and that happiness is a measurement of how much you feel a sense of belonging.

And there are people, throughout the world, who would most certainly tell you that FTR Nation has been their Family… Family without borders and in the absence of blood.

Because those two issues have nothing to do with how to find happiness.

I hope this week’s message has served you.

Please watch this short video… I will give you the exact idea of what to do next:

For years, YEARS, I would tell people around me that I just want real, true friends. Real, true genuine human connection. Almost always, that was heard as something entirely different and would yield the same monotonous response. “Danny, people aren’t going to make you happy. Only you can.” But that’s the ironic part. I didn’t say people ‘make’ me happy. All I was trying to say was being ‘around’ people in a genuine, authentic, loving and connecting way would ‘allow’ me to grow. Just knowing they are they. They are the same as me. Want the same things. Inspired in the same ways to make this world better. This has made all the difference…..

    Touch one person.

    Do it authentically.

    You matter. Period.

And…you always will…to that one person.

To measure yourself on a scale beyond the one touch, the one interaction you can have right now is a surefire formula for destruction of self-esteem.

Your spirit asks only that you be here, now, in your interaction with the person in front of you right now.

String together a series of those moments and you will have lived a momentous life.

And that, my co-conspirators, is why we’re here…

I have been told for months that only “I’ can make myself happy…no one else can! Who wanted to hear that…not me!!! Since joining FTR Nation, I have learned that I was so off base and what I was told was absolutely true! FTR Nation is a family of unconditional love and support. A safe place to come and learn about yourself and others. I have definitely started to “see” myself and others differently. I am truly grateful for this community of friends and family! ♥

And we are unconditionally grateful for you… And yes, I can speak for everyone on that <3

Wow. This post really spoke to me. For the last number of weeks I have found myself in bouts of anxiety and depression. I’ve never experienced this stuff before in my life. I’ve come to the same realization – that my issues stem from the fact that up to this point I have largely been living for myself. I’ve allowed my relationships with others to remain superficial at best. I haven’t trusted myself to reach out and connect with other people. So, now begins the real work of changing my behavior a little bit at a time. I desperately want- crave -a sense of belonging and community with my fellow human beings.

Barry… That is the deepest and most honest craving we all have as human beings. Many congrats for finding awareness on that. And….

      Welcome Home, brother.

I am sure I can say this for all of the family we love how FTRN was formed and is there for all of us now.

And the Legacy will ensure it never goes anywhere, brother….

There is always a way through it…. it starts with the core of our heart and soul. And this is a brilliant reminder. Thank you.
